Freshman muses about Model UN

In my first year at Bellarmine, Model UN was one of the best ways to get involved. As a freshman, it greatly improved my public speaking and critical thinking skills, along with providing a wonderful way to practice my writing skills. Model UN is an excellent way to do all of these things all while having boatloads of fun such as deciding to blow up the Moon, removing the founder of Paramount Pictures from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, declaring war on the Sun Empire, controlling the world drug trade or being a quadruple agent for Hydra that topples S.H.I.E.L.D. These are a few of the million possibilities during a Model UN conference, and social studies teacher Ken Brown and BellarMUN make sure that you have the greatest experience during these times. I have grown immensely in my abilities as a student, public speaker, and in my relationships with my senior friends and Mr. Brown. I highly recommend MUN to any new and current Bellarmine students.
