The Lion announces the 24th Annual Cookie Contest winners

The 24th Annual Cookie Contest occurred on Thursday, Dec. 4. Journalism staff members evaluated 17 dozen cookies on taste, texture and presentation. One set of cookies was delicious but disqualified because a staff member made them. The other 16 entries are featured below. For their award-winning recipes, please contact the students directly.

The top three winners won Amazon and Crumbl gift cards in the amount of $25, $20, and $15. All bakers received a gift of chocolate for their participation. They just had to see Jeanne Hanigan in B-3 to claim their prizes.

Hopefully these students and more will enter next year for even bigger prizes to commemorate the 25th year of the Lion Cookie Contest.

Grace Miller is thrilled to be joining the Journalism Staff as a senior this year. Outside of journalism, Miller can be found playing softball, reviewing the local food scene on Instagram, or participating in Model UN. Jeanne Hanigan
Jeanne Hanigan, Teacher/Adviser
Jeanne (Dressel) Hanigan B’84 practices what she preaches or, in this case, what she teaches. An English literature, AP Composition and Journalism teacher at Bellarmine Prep, she is also the founder of the online venue, www.writesociety.com, a website which celebrates strong and creative prose. She continues to love her newspaper staff, as long as they meet their deadlines and fill the snack jar.
