As the school months start to wind down before the greatly anticipated season of summer, people at Bellarmine anxiously await for spring break. Some students at Bellarmine travel close to home for break – choosing to venture to the city of Seattle for a day trip or a trip along the coast – while others choose to travel across the nation, or even out of the country.

One of Bellarmine’s very own, freshman Sonika Nigam, is excited to travel this spring break. “I am so excited to go to India and visit my family. Every year when I go, I create memories that last forever. This year I’m going to be going to two new cities in southern India, one of which is a French colony. I am also looking forward to celebrating my grandma’s 80th birthday during this trip. I miss my family so much, and I can’t wait to visit my ancestral home which is more than 150 years old.”

Spring break locations are wide ranging amongst Bellarmine families as some choose to travel to exotic locations searching for sun and warm weather, while others desperately try to catch the last bit of snow before ski season ends until next year. As well as traveling to different spring break locations, Bellarmine students also travel for a variety of reasons: to visit family, to sightsee, or to visit possible colleges, such as senior, Carlos Hernandez, who says he is “traveling to Texas for a college visit at University of Texas this spring break.”

No matter what the Bellarmine student body decides to do in two weeks, they will enjoy a much-needed break for school.
