Bellarmine students win at Tacoma Ocean Fest 2019

On Sunday, June 9, at the Foss Waterway Seaport, the annual Tacoma Ocean Fest held its spring festival. This year’s theme was “Our Ocean- Our Lives- Our Future.”

For the second year in a row, Tacoma Sunrise Rotary sponsored a Youth Story Contest, which featured Roundtable pizza prizes and even money.

Finalists included four Bellarmine students.

Ninth graders Hye Seung Lee, McKenna Logan and Nelly Ramos-Laguna wrote poetry, and Ramos-Laguna took 3rd place in the high school category.

Ninth grader Alena Lewis took 2nd place in the high school category for her graph featuring ocean data.
