Lucia Zima, Vacationing in Maui, HI

Senior Lucia Zima went to Maui, Hawaii for her spring break. Deemed unofficially as the “senior trip,” a handful of Zima’s classmates also journeyed to Maui for a week of sun and fun. Staying in Wailea, Zima’s favorite part of her trip was “the sun and getting to hangout with friends and family.”

Zima enjoyed a few adventures, including snorkeling and hiking. Near the end of Zima’s trip, she woke up at around three in the morning and went to Haleakala volcano. There, she witnessed a beautiful sunrise over the rolling hills.

Marie Wiegman, Hiking in Liliwaup, WA

Freshman Marie Wiegman went to Liliwaup, Washington over her spring break. Just north of Hoodsport, Liliwaup is a small town with a beautiful state park on the Hood Canal. With a friend, Wiegman went on a 4.2 mile hike called “Big Creek Loop.” Wiegman experienced multiple waterfalls and bridges, which she described as “gorgeous.”

Wiegman highly recommends hiking in Liliwaup, as she had a lot of fun exploring the trails. After her hike, Wiegman and her friend went into town (only a five minute drive away) and got ice cream.

Nevaehly Ortiz, Gymnastics Competition in Dallas, TX

Over her spring break, junior Nevaehly Ortiz went to Dallas, Texas for a gymnastic competition. There, she attended the WOGA classics alongside some of her teammates. Ortiz swept all four events (vault, floor, bars, and beam), winning all-around. Ortiz has competed in gymnastics for almost nine years and was ecstatic to display her talent and hard work.

When asked about her favorite memory from her trip,Ortiz reflected on the time spent with her friends stating, “Going to top golf with my gym friends after the meet was my favorite memory. We had a great time reminiscing about our experience. The fact that we performed in a big arena for the first time felt unreal.”
