The Lion staff loves to fill in and write about anything Bellarmine Prep-related.

Maya Deaton is a senior who is excited for her second year on Journalism staff. She is involved in Bellarmine athletics and clubs as a member of the cheerleading team, Marine Chemistry, National Honors Society, Lion Outreach, and Letters For Rose. Outside school, she enjoys going swimming with her friends, walking her dog, traveling, hiking, baking, and going to concerts.

Sage Vasko is a senior this year who is looking forward to her second year on the Journalism staff! At Bellarmine, she is involved in Link Crew, Lion Outreach, National Honors Society, and is captain of the cheer squad. Some of her pastimes include skiing, reading, hanging out with friends, and playing with her two dogs. 

Talia Patel is a senior for this year’s journalism class. She enjoys listening to music, going on short runs, and hiking. In school, she is a member of Lion Link Crew, Bellarmine’s Marine Chemistry program, and National Honor Society. She is excited to have a great year writing on The Hill!

Jeanne (Dressel) Hanigan B'84 practices what she preaches or, in this case, what she teaches. An English literature, AP Composition and Journalism teacher at Bellarmine Prep, she is also the founder of the online venue, www.writesociety.com, a website which celebrates strong and creative prose. She continues to love her newspaper staff, as long as they meet their deadlines and fill the snack jar.
