
It is currently the annual season for Distributive Education Clubs of America, formally known as DECA. And this year, Co-founders Cora Smith and Ishaan Khanuja with teacher and club advisor Angelica Calcote led a group of 22 students to Washington’s Area 8 Conference held at the Washington State Puyallup Fair Grounds.
It was their first time competing in the various high-level events. Eight students won a medal and their ticket to Washington DECA’s State Career Development Conference (SCDC) which will be held from Feb. 26-28 in Bellevue.
DECA participants have the availability to participate in a plethora of different events where they either create a pitch deck, presentation, or on the fly perform a role play.
And in the end, the following students will be advancing to the state competition this February.
