Bellarmine Baseball
Bellarmine Baseball is up to bat this fall. After a strong playoff run last season, the varsity team wants to build their momentum into next season.
Senior Raymond Lanza, when asked about the team’s ambitions for this coming year, said “to make the playoffs.”
Head Coach Rick “Barney” Barnhart heads into his 34th season leading the lion’s varsity baseball. By the way “Barney” was a collegiate pitcher, attending Green River Community College and the University of Puget Sound, with a cumulative article of 41-2.
He even spent two years pitching professionally for the Cleveland Indians, so it’s safe to say he has experience.
Don’t count out Junior Varsity either, who also look to swing for the fences next season. Their coach is … (?) There will be no C-Team Baseball this year, so the Bellarmine teams will be very competitive this year. Catch the Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball teams’ 2020 debut on March 25 at Rogers.
