As winter sports wind down and the women’s basketball team ended their season in the Tacoma Dome on Feb. 28, spring sports athletes are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting and hopefully triumphant season. In recent years, spring sports, which include lacrosse, men’s soccer, track and field, men’s golf, women’s tennis, baseball, and softball, have been our strongest teams in terms of success. These successes include a soccer state championship in 2022, state playoff appearances the last three years from the men’s lacrosse team, and four women’s tennis athletes competing in the state tournament last year.
It’s clear that the spring sports teams have a lot to live up to if they want to continue their streak of success. Men’s lacrosse captains Joey Bambrick, Cole Tamurian, Max Moloznik, and Hudson Horiuchu are optimistic about the team this year and are looking forward to their first game on Friday, March 8, against Rogers High School.
Along with lacrosse, the men’s golf team is also incredibly excited to kick off the season. JJ Bordeaux looks to bring home a first place title, as he finished 2nd in state last year, and the rest of the team is hoping for a strong season as well.
With all these incredible athletes getting ready to compete, it is time to pull out the umbrellas and get ready to brave the unpredictable spring weather to cheer on all the spring sports athletes. It is time to unite as a community and show our unwavewring support for our spring sports teams.
