The 2024-2025 school year has made its transition from the fall sports season and into the winter one. The switch to 4A to 3A promised excitement, as did the Friday Night Light Football games and the cheering on of various sports teams. The sense of school spirit loomed in the air. Here’s a recap on the exciting things that the Bellarmine Lion Fall Sports teams were able to accomplish.
Football:
With an appearance in the playoffs, our Lions Varsity Football team finished this year with a 6-4 overall record. Most notably, they beat Auburn High school with a final score of 31-8.

Girls Soccer:
The Girls Varsity Soccer Team ended the year having gone to district and state competition with a 13-8-4 record. One senior captain, Josie Jacobson (#18) said, “it was definitely the best year that I could have asked for as a senior,” when asked about the team’s first appearance at state since 2014 this year.

With a showing at state for the second year in a row, the Volleyball team pulled up and showed out in Yakima.

Sophomore:
Grace Morgan (#11) 1st Team Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter
Cross Country:
The Girls Team was able to have a showing at Districts, State, and the Nike Cross Nationals.
Certain players of recognition included
Coach Matt Ellis said, “It was exciting because we saw a lot of improvement and there are a lot of young runners and athletes. It’s exciting for the future,” which brings more anticipation for next year’s team.

Boys Tennis:
The team as a whole this year tied for first and claimed the Co-Champ
Players, Aiyaan Juneja (‘25) and Dante Pham (‘27), took Second Place in Doubles Tennis at the West Central District Tournament. Herky Briggs (‘26) also finished with a champion title in singles.
Congratulations to our award-winning Lions, and all participating athletes this year. There have been a lot of adjustments to the new conference switch, but our Lions sports teams seem to be handling it well. This winter season holds a lot of exciting matches as well.
