This year, three team members were selected for First Team all-league Narrows Division; Kade Price (Junior, number 3), Ronnie Wiggins (Junior, number 22), and Ben Heisel (Senior, number 13). Along with their team, their coach Bobby Moorehead, was the recipient of the Coach of the Year for Narrows Division.
In the 2024-2025 season, the boys basketball team welcomed in Bobby Moorehead as their new coach. A former collegiate basketball player, he took over the team last year and has continued on into this 2026 season.
When asking some players about how the coaching has impacted their success this year, they ultimately agreed that the coaching has been one of the most beneficial parts of their team. Junior Ronnie Wiggins states, “He just makes sure all of us are involved, and he really emphasizes our defense. Defense is where it is at to hold other teams down.”
Another junior, Kade Price says, “ I think the way he coaches and his concepts he uses are a lot better than other teams, because we do stuff the right way. A lot of other teams don’t; they cut corners.”
Every team has a motto and when asking team member Senior Hunter Goodsell, he shared, “Our key to win state is that Bobby puts ‘compete with desperation’ on the white board every game.”
Bellarmine basketball is on their way to the dome with a goal of winning state. From having mostly returning varsity players and three freshmen on varsity, the boys basketball team is well experienced and rounded for the 2025-2026 season.
Bellarmine Boys Basketball has many things to attribute to a great season so far. From a new coach for the past two years, a recovering and experienced varsity team, and success in getting to the Dome last year, boys basketball is on the path to a very successful end of the season.
